Fulfill Community Service Hours

Community service hours are available to fulfill court-ordered or scholastic requirements. Required service hours opportunities include tasks such as cleaning, doing laundry, and general facility upkeep. To work with animals, you must go through extensive training and commit to ongoing service throughout the year. We will not provide opportunities to work with animals at the center to fulfill court-ordered requirements and we will only consider training a student to work with animals for required service hours if they need more than 15 hours in a year.

To perform community service hours alone you must be 14 years of age or older. Otherwise, you will be required to have a parent with you at all times during your shift.

You must schedule required service hours ahead of time; allow 48 hours for a response, no walk-ins or phone calls. Be sure to allow for several weeks to fulfill your requirements as shifts are limited and fill up quickly. Help is mostly needed during weekdays. Weekend work is available, but a short weekday training session will be required before you can schedule your first shift.

Most students will need to schedule during school breaks, Monday through Friday between 8:00 am – 4:00 pm; those dates are listed below.

  • October 9 - October 13, Fall Break 2023
  • November 6, 2023 (Professional Development Day)
  • November 20 - November 22, Thanksgiving Break 2023
  • December 18 - December 29, Winter Break 2023
